    Butch Hartman (full name: Elmer Earl Hartman IV) is an American animator who is well known for his many animated series on Nickelodeon.

    History

    Butch started out as a cartoonist, but later studied at CalArts for animation. He also worked for animation during and after his studies. On December , he sold his original short cartoon The Fairly OddParents!(video below) to Nickelodeon as the last slot of Oh Yeah! Cartoons anthology series.



    Due to the short's sucess, Butch was requested to make six minute shorts of Fairly OddParents, and later became a full animated series, starting his long-time career in Nickelodeon. On August 18, , he created his own channel on YouTube channel, with his earliest upload dated on September 1, (video below).



    During his stay in Nickelodeon, he also made other personal projects like a children's app called The Noog Network(below, left) and his Speech Bubble podcast (below, right).

    I'm personally getting tired of this excessive Butch Hartman bashing. Seriously, why is everything black and white with you guys? Why is it that when someone does something bad, all the good is automatically forgotten and we turn into "let's bash the crap out this guy" mode?

    Because seriously, I don't see what this guy did that was SO bad to guarantee all of these Hartman bashing threads, or that whenever there's a FOP or DP topic someone has to chime in stating how much Hartman sucks.

    It's just getting so old. It's certainly not funny, but it gets annoying and sometimes even painful to read. Some of you even seem to hate him as a person. Why? I've read his blog ocassionaly and some interviews by him and I've never seen anything that makes him come off as a jerk, unlike other people who have said and done stuff that I can understand being hated.

    It's pointless. Heck, it's even stupid. These discussions may have made sense back when the shows started to go downhill, but now I don't see the point.
